Second build

Hi,

Retired engineer, and enjoying life.

Rebuilding my shop after kids burned my first down. Second one is metal and I still have a long way to go to get back what we lost. Keeping my eyes open for new ideas for the new shop.

Wow, that's a tough break, but at least no one was hurt. Hopefully you were insured, and you can concentrate on making it better than it was.

Always go for the upgrade.

Welcome to the GJ, jimp. Sorry to hear of you situation with the old shop, that's a tough break for sure. I guess one way to look at it is now you can redo what you didn't like about the old one and incorporate all the "I wish I had..." into the new one. Do your planning, take your time and it will be awesome. Welcome to the group.

Had insurance, State Farm is a great insurance company.

New shop will be bigger, but not better. Old was two story wood framed cedar sided with 4 bays and a porch. New is simple 60x72x14 metal box with no windows below 10 ft.

I can vouch for them...my employer for decades. My insurer as well, and no, we do not get discounts.
