self stick tile vs glue down tile

I live in iowa and would like to finish my garage floor and don't know witch tile will stand up best to the cold and wet iowa winters. The thought behind useing tile is that I won't have to move every thing out while installing. We use are garage as a large party room as well as a shop for me to wrench on my 75 corvette and the wife's jeep it has a 65.000 BTU furnace that stays @45 degrees when were not in it. Will water from melting snow need to be dried up as soon as it gets on the tile or can it be on the floor over night. Maybe tile won't work at all but would like any imput from other members

if you are going to use the area for a multiple purpose like that and you are looking for a durable good looking surface I would look at staining the concrete.
you can do patterns or even give it a marble or granite type look

I lived in Chicago. I went the route for stick on tile. I got a great deal on a ton of black and white ones when a Menard's changed location!) I had fairly good luck with the stick ons. You will notice that they will peal up where the tires sit. You will also notice that the tiles will buckle when you use a jack.

If you are going to use it as a show place with little if any work actually taking place they will be fine. If you are going to work in the area, go with the good industrial glue down stuff. I am going to be do it myself as soon as it warms up a bit.

All said and done there is NOT a HUGE difference in the cost of VCT and the Self Stick kind.

If you are going tile I would suggest VCT. It may cost 50-$100 More but you will get 20 times the quality.
