I am looking for something that I saw about 4-5 years ago in the garage of an old lady I used to do yard work for. Her husband had set up the drawers in his toolbox with custom labels made out of custom rectangles of sheet metal stamped with the contents of the drawer. To hold the sheet metal he had something that allowed the metal to slide in on one side and hold it in. I am now setting up my workshop and I want to try that out for my toolbox because I loved how it looked. If anyone knows what they are called I would be most grateful.

Yeah, don’t leave finds like that hanging or you could lose points on your workshop man card.
It appears that the label holders used were for paper labels like the kind you would see on filing cabinets. I see some online that have a sticky back like this one on amazon and for a more sturdy holder you could get one that uses nails or screws like here. I might get the nickel one and see if I could widen them enough to pop in a rivet and firmly attach it to my toolbox.

I like the sticky back ones. Knowing that logos etc on cars are mostly attached w/ sticky back and having had to remove some that were 6-8 yrs old, I'd be fine using them on a tool box.
