Here are the pics of the new lift I had purchased on ebay for $250($79 shipping) In both the horizontal(ceiling) and verticle(wall) positions

This is a piece cut and sitting on the lift waiting to be rotated and moved into postion on the wall behind it.

I have aligned the sheet L/R

Here, I pushed the top of the sheet up against the wall while the lower half of the sheet is craddled by the lift.

I raise the sheet into position and screwed the sheet in along thee top of the sheet so that it hangs in position.

I then drop the lift, pull it out of the way and screw the rest of the sheet in.

Incidentally.......I discovered a way to move full sheets around the garage as I have been moving them out of the way to work on new walls. I placed them on the $20 NAPA seat that I use for working on my cars.

That lift works pretty slick! That's much better than having your wife hold it in place while you screw it...I bet you haven't gotten ONE complaint from that lift while it's holding things.

That stool idea reminded me of the times I've used my kid's skateboards to help slide transmissions from underneath cars. My kid didn't see much humor in it at the time.

Great series of pics, Chuck. Thanks. That certainly does look like the hot ticket. As a "do-it-yourselfer" who has never done drywall, this would appear to be a big help. The fewer challenges the better.

And it extends up high enough to do ceilings? Say, 12.5' high?

You can buy an extension which allows the lift to go up to 15'. without it the lift goes to 11'.
I had the rental company I rented the sheetrock lift from add the insert when I did the ceilings, But I don't need it for the walls and my new unit doesn't have it.

What's the max size sheet that will fit on there safely? I'm doing 5/8"... 12 foot, 14 foot ?

It looks like that model drywall lift even folds for more compact storage....true?

Quite true....It comes apart in 3 pieces all of which fir in my Altima when I transported it.

1) The base tripod
2) The top craddle
3) The miidle post and wheel section
