Shop heater not working

I have a modine model: pae145ac the first cold snap of the year hit so I went to switch the heaters on 1 heater fired up and you could hear it igniting this one you hear a clunk then about a minute later the fan kicks on but no heat I did replace the thermostat wiring (because the wiring was damaged) and the gas valve you don't hear the igniter trying to fire just the clunk and fan what should my next steps be or should I call a company to come check it out I feel confident enough to fix it just don't know where I should go next

Sticking with the basics right now- when I turnoff my heater in the spring, I also close the gas shut off valve which is 75 feet away on the house. So when I open it back up in the fall, it always takes a couple of cycles for the gas to reach the igniter on the heater. Hope your issue is this easy.

The heater that's not working is before the heater that is working there is more than enough gas flow from at least the pipe

Well so much for the low hanging fruit. After you replaced the thermostat wiring, did the heater fire up? If not, could you have one loose connection.

It would kick on but not fire up which It didn't before the thermostat turning on the sequence to start you hear a clunk but no igniter than the fan kicks on the other heater we have in the shop you hear the clunk hear the buzz of the igniter hear it fire up then the fan kicks on and I have a thermo gun so it's heating up to about 320° and the one that's not working just sits at 75°

I came late to the party.
Is Fuel available at the control valve?
Is the heater getting a “Call For Heat”
Is the pilot valve opening?
Are you getting ignition of the pilot flame?
Is the pilot flame being proven?
If the pilot gets proven then the main gas valve should open a you should get Main Flame Ignition.

Maybe one of the limit switches is not in a good state. Check the limit switches.

The fuel is avaliable there is full flow, through the inspection cover I don't see spark or pilot there isn't a sound of the ignition sparking what so ever but the gas valve chunks once you push on, on the thermostat it hasn't been working in a few years because once the thermostat wire was shorting out and quit working no one tried to fix it so now I'm starting from the unknown and I fix trucks, heavy equipment, and lawn stuff I'm not super familiar with hvac but can figure it out really quickly once I start working on it just have no idea where to go next

The thermostat is working or the fan would not start and run. The fan runs on a timer. Once the thermostat calls for heat the timer starts counting down and runs the blower. I am assuming you are not getting power to ignition control.

There are a few things to check, but I am looking for a wiring diagram. You don't happen to have one for the heater?

The thermostat is working or the fan would not start and run. The fan runs on a timer. Once the thermostat calls for heat the timer starts counting down and runs the blower. I am assuming you are not getting power to ignition control.

There are a few things to check, but I am looking for a wiring diagram. You don't happen to have one for the heater?

See if you can light the pilot, once the pilot is lit the gas valve will be looking for proof the pilot has been lit and then after verification the pilot is burning, allow the main burner valve to open.

I got it it's working now it wasn't an auto pilot light it was a manual one
