Silkafloor 90 Expoxy

I just scored enough Sikafloor 90 (parts a and b) to epoxy my entire garage for FREE! Our local Habitat for Humanity Restore had it listed in craigslist, so I got there early and waited in line. I'm reading up a bit on it online, but was wondering if you guys had any personal experience. If I bought it from Rhino materials here in town, it would have cost me $600 or more.

Any impressions guys?

Sikafloor 90 is a clear epoxy, Sikafloor 90N is pigmented. If you have 90 you will probably want to do a flake or quartz finish to get a decorative look. I had to go to an old Sika product catalog to get the product sheet. The product is good for 2 years from packaging date, the potlife is 35 mins at 75 degrees, mechanical surface prep is called for. yes, this does help! Since this dries clear, it there a way to pigment the concrete before applying the epoxy? What about a penetrating concrete stain? As long as it's not a sealer too, would that work?

What about adding pigment to the epoxy? Is that possible?

Don't try to pigment it yourself. Possible that you could prime with a colored epoxy and then use the clear for a topcoat. Stains are hard to get color even.

Good luck, short pot life means plan everything.

im not too concerned with getting the stain to color evenly. I just want to make sure it doesn't inhibit the bond between the epoxy and the concrete. 35 minutes seems awfully short. Planning will certainly be important - so are helpers.
