Hi everyone - just won off of ebay a used SK 3/8 ratchet with the composite handle. Now, I have several SK ratchets, but this is the only one I've ever seen with a "comfort grip" type of handle. The auction was a "buy it now for a$17.50" auction and after several days, no one was biting. Yes, that's a high price for used SK 3/8 ratchets, but it had the comfort grip handle and the shipping was FREE. I live in Hawaii and believe me, shipping is a killer to all of us here. I lurk ebay all the time and $5-6 priority mail is the norm for ratchets sent to Hawaii,if they will even send it to us at all. So for me, the ratchet was $11 to 12.50 my cost.
So, I get the ratchet with lightning fast shipping and while it works just fine, the head wobbles just a little too much for my taste and I need to clean it anyway. I have a $.99 sk 45170-9 kit that I bought at a swap meet as a back up in case I needed a rebuild, so I took apart the ratchet and installed new guts to the 45177 just to get that "new feel".
Now, for $18.49 and decades of searching fot that perfect fit, I got my absolute favorite go to 3/8 ratchet. The reason I post this is that I have high end USA comfort grip ratchets from Snap-on, Mac, Matco, Proto, and Wright and have concluded that peoples ratchets are a very personal thing. My hands are large with short fingers, thus this SK fits me like a glove. And it's US made!!!! Hey, I'm a happy guy with my favorite ratchet, how about you?

........... Hey, I guess I have to find a new best ratchet. Oh well, I gave the ratchet to my wife for the kitchen drawer. She seems to like it very much.
