Does anyone have Slatwall MX? I have been looking for slatwall for a while now and came across this stuff that looks pretty nice but one website said it is almost 1,000 pounds for a 4 x 8 sheet. So this weekend I put up the MDF slatwall instead. The MDF is ok but I would really like metal look of the Slatwall MX.

Is this slatwall just MDF with an aluminum front? :dunno:

If you know anything about this stuff please post it. Thanks.

Are you sure that 1000 lb figure was the weight of the product, and not its capacity?

According to this link, a 4x4 sheet of Slatwall MX weighs 46 lbs, so a 4x8 should be around 92 lbs.

See the pics in my build thread. I used aluminum faced MDF slat wall. Much more resistant to pulling out than the straight MDF with wood veneer on it. It also has an aluminum track in the slat/slot that prevents pull out.

No way it weighs 1000#, although it is noticeably heavier than the wood stuff.

The capacity says it is 2000 pounds for 4 x 8 sheet. I thought the 1,000 pounds was a miss print but when I went to order it, shipping was $350 for one 4 x 8 sheet. Plus it said I would need a lift gate due to the weight. :headscrat

Your build looks great and the slatwall you have is what I have been looking for. Any idea how much it can hold?

I bought the MDF last week and went to hang my ladder last night and it broke the slatwall. Guess I need something that can handle more weight. :lol_hitti
