My BIL has a Snap On WB 200 balancer that he says is showing an error code 2. Told him I'd ask here if anyone knows what that may mean or how to diagnose it before he scraps it. Any clues?

I looked at the manual for my wb240 and it doesn't have any error codes listed. Surely he's tried unplugging it to reset the code.

There is a procedure for recalibrating it. There is a recessed calibration button on the back of the electronic unit. Basically you balance a wheel perfectly with the fine mode then you rotate the wheel until the outer arrows light up, then place a 3 ounce weight on the outside of the rim at that location. Then press the calibration button and CCC will light up - spin the wheel until it shows that it is calibrated.

Don't know if any of this applies to WB200 or not. Also note the Snap on balancers are rebadged John Bean units. It might be easier to find information searching for them.

Thanks IndyGarage. Didn't know that they were John Beans. Might help knowing that. I'll talk to him today and see what he's tried.

My WB540 will error if you turn the spindle without a wheel on it. Or if you spin it out of the proper speed range. Calibration should have nothing to do with an error.
