Hello everybody, that's my first post on this board, I'm glad I have the oportunity to read and participate in this great forum. I have a question and it would be of much use if anyone can help me with some information. Some days ago I bought an used 9 years old Snap On CT6850 cordless impact wrench. Although its age it is still a great tool, the torque this chap has is amazing (400lbs ft). It comes with a 18V 2,5 Ah Ni-cad battery, which when fully charged can easily undo the 10 bolts of the 2 back wheels of my car (17mm head) and then tighten them back, but when trying to loosen the lug nuts on the 3-th wheel it doesn't have enough power to do this.
It would be great if anyone more experienced with Snap On cordless power tools could give me some information if this is normal or the battery (CTB4185) of the gun should last alot longer and I'll have to rebuild it with new cells. This is the first cordless impact wrench that I own, I've bought it mainly to switch tires on track days, but to work with it also. Here where I live (Europe) Snap On tools are quite rare and very expensive, I really don't know anybody with such an impact wrench to ask about battery life. Thanks in advance and keep the good work!
