Where can I get a snap-on catalog? I went to snapon.com and tried to order one, but it requires a dealer name and I don't have a dealer.
as if the tools don't cost enough, then you tell me they charge for their catalog???![]()
Now they have you guys believing that you NEED to pay THEM for their advertising to YOU.
How funny is that.

and take offense at the idea of paying people to supply a catalog so that I can spend money with them!
I think companies like Snap-On figure it this way, if they will pay that much for the tools, surely they will pay for the catalog of tool **** to drool over
Soon the Victoria's Secret catalog with the girls in their barely there's will cost money too!
+2, try this catalog it's free:

Your consistent disdain for Snap-On never ceases to amuse me.as if the tools don't cost enough, then you tell me they charge for their catalog???![]()
Go away already. Did you come here just to try and prove that people should buy Craftsman instead of Snap On?
Your consistent disdain for Snap-On never ceases to amuse me.
The catalog's free. Chase down a snap-on truck, and he'll hand you one. Or they'll charge you about $2 to ship one to you.
The horror.
Go break some Craftsman tools already.![]()
But the business model hasn't changed. Because it still works. Now here is what gets me. Why should I have to chase down a guy trying to sell me hundreds or even thousands of dollars worth of tools? Shouldn't he be chasing me down?
This business model is about 40 years old.
Don't forget, they're not selling to you. They're selling to me. The guy who wrenches for a living, and we love that we don't have to go tool shopping weekly. The store comes to us.
If you're not doing it professionally, you're going to have to go find the Mac/Cornwell/Matco/Snap-On guy if you want their tools.
It's not that hard. Call 'em up and find out what day they'll be in your area. Meet them on your lunch break... wait, that's inconvenient? Well now you know how I'd feel driving to Sears to warranty the stuff I break every week. I break it at work, I want a new one handed to me. At work.![]()
"Sell?" That tool is free. But again you are going under the false assumption that as soon as your tool breaks, or you just need a different tool, that you are going to give the SnapOn guy a call on the cellphone and he is going to be right over, driving clear across town (at 9 miles a gallon) to sell you a SOCKET!
Of course they are.I heard SNAP-ON tools were made in the same plant as HARBOR FREIGHT .
CRAFTSMAN tools are much better and have a better warranty.

) and this thread has deteriorated into stupidity! I am done with this thread! Fortunately it looks as though TNToy has not lost his sense of humor with the whole thing!Your consistent disdain for Snap-On never ceases to amuse me.

+1! Absolutely!I think we need a whole new forum on the Garage Journal called Snap-On vs. Craftsman, or some such thing.
