Snap On K60 Restoration

I just recently came to poses a Snap on K60 after my grandfather passed. I want to restore it, but I can't for the life of me figure out how to remove the drawers. Any advice on how to remove them easily would be greatly appreciated.

There is a spring steel tab on the back side of that rivet, in the center (top to bottom) of the slide on both ends. Snap on makes a proper tool, which I would recommend that you get. You can use a hacksaw blade and the like, but the proper tools from snap on are much easier and will ensure that you cause little to no damage to the drawers and slides.

That looks to be in pretty good condition, may want to try a clean and wax before you go through the tedious process of a proper restoration.

Thank you for the help. I'm able to get them off with a metal shim. The plan is to give a good clean and then go from there. I want to find replacement handles for it too. Though there is some damage that will be hard to repair. Someone ran a piece of metal metal all the way through the front at some point.

Try to find your missing handles as opposed to replacing them would be my first instinct. This would increase the value by staying original.

I just cleaned and buffed mine. If you repaint the value will suffer.

Love it. Your K60 is much earlier than mine. I also vote for a thorough cleaning and waxing rather than restore but it's your box and your memory. Whichever road you choose, please remember to post pictures to this thread.
