Snap on lift

Not sure if I'm posting this in the correct spot, but I'm looking for some advise. I just purchased a used Snap On mid rise lift, after performing a thorough inspection, I have found the metal rollers that contact the floor are seized. Has anyone found a way to free these up, or had any success replacing them, as the pins appear to be welded into the frame.

Have you tried taking them off? Should be just a single through bolt. Probably just corroded.

Penetrating oil usually works for a day maybe two.

Ok so after a little cleaning with a steel bristled brush I see that there are snap rings holding the pins in. I have soaked the pins, and rollers with some PB Blaster for a day, I tried some heat and even an air hammer but no luck.

Keep soaking and tap on the roller not the pin. It may take several attempts to get them free. If you can find some get Aerokroil its a really good penetrant, if you can't find any Kroil try a 50/50 mix of ATF and acetone.

Mouse Milk is the King of all penetrating lubes IMO. Put a heat gun up to it too.

Keep soaking then heat and hammer. The lift at work sits in salt water. Snap-on sells the rollers and pins clips... Clean it up good with some fresh grease and it will be good as new.

No Problem its a great lift. we got it used and has been in the shop for 7 years. besides the rusting rollers thats the only problem we have ever had. but its not the lifts falt. I live in Quebec where they use road-salt in extreme amounts. The lift is set inground to be able to lift real low cars. there is a drain but its constantly wet with fresh cars with snow and salt. its lifts about 25-35 cars per day from Mid Oct to Dec 23. if this is for your house you will have this for life.

Not to get off topic but does Snap on or Wheeltronics still manufacture this lift? I have been looking for information but many of the website links seem to no longer work. If the lift is no longer available does Snap on make a newer version?

Mine is for my garage at home so I feel it was a worth while investment. It has a wheeltronics decal on it as well. It appears that there were two models offered by snap on, earlier models look as if they had a single piston and a 6000lbs rating with an open top. And a later model "mine" twin piston 6500 lbs rating with a solid table top.

Yeah they have two models. The open deck is the backup lift. Its been on the rack on a pallet for 7 years. My boss wont Sell it to me

SnapOn no longer shows it on their website and Wheeltronics website is offline. They don't even show a mid-rise lift anymore. The only scissor lift they show is a full rise 9k unit.

Well I followed some quality advise from you guys, and after some effort actually got the pins out and removed the rollers. Wire wheeled everything, I think about $15 worth of roller bearings and a couple of snap rings and they will be up and operational. Thanks again!
