Snap-on lock removal!

Hey guys so i am restoring this snap-on box to either sell or maybe keep and am having a little trouble with the lock. Snap-on sent me new slides and a new lock because the slides were bad on some drawers and the lock is some aftermarket one that i don't have the key for. I saw that you can take the old locks off by opening the top drawer and removing it from the inside but the first 3 drawers are locked so i can't. It also looks like the lock was welded on the box so i might have trouble removing it. Is the best way to drill it out?

Flip the whole box upside down to see if gravity will drop the locking bar and free the top three drawers. If so, keep the drawers open a tad while righting the box so the bar doesn't relock them when it drops back.

If this works you can then remove the drawers to get a better look at the back of the lock.

BTW - Nice looking keys on the new lockset.

Isn't there a lock bar on back wall of the cabinet (inside)? Since you have a few of the drawers out, reach back and see if you can pop the lock bar up and that should allow you to slide the top drawers out and then remove them, allowing access to remove the lock.

I did what zking said to do and all the drawers opened. I also figured out i need at least another pair of slides so i guess i have to contact snap-on again. Here are the pics of the back of the lock. I can not figure out how to remove the lock still?

BTW - Nice looking keys on the new lockset.

Can those lock cylinders and keys be retrofitted to a Snap-off box?

It's already scuffed up. Grind the face of the lock off with an angle grinder. It should just push in from there.

There is usually a nut or a push on spring clip that holds those types of locks in place.
