Snap-on Socket Set Questions

I'm looking to order the Snap-on 711IM set, and maybe the 709IMM to cover metric. I don't have these sizes covered, so I'd like to be ready just in case. Does anyone have those sets, and do they have the new script (that's very important to me)? How's the broaching? Also, could anyone point me toward an adapter to use them on my 1/2 breaker bar? I could really use a universal as well, but Snap-on doesn't seem to offer one.

At around $75,000 retail I'd say they'd be a great addition to any garage. Assuming you have military purchase powers, why not buy them and let us know? I'd bet they're fine unless you need deep well. Keep in mind Snap On basically charges by the pound for this stuff, so .... the cost will only go up.

When I added these to my cart I found the price was $41,395.00 for the 11 pc set. The metric 10 pc set was only $30,955.00. Good thing tho, they are both out of stock.

I get the feeling that they don't sell too many of these. Looks like the factory will have to be stated up to make them is why the really high price.

You can not put $72,000 of tools on a Chinese adaptor, can you?

In my smaller sets that are 1/2" the broaching is the same, the only difference is how much clearance you have before it bottoms out. The specs are online as to the broaching. I suggest you call the corporate office and ask. I support our armed forces, but at the same time, I suggest you call corporate and have the deal made w/ samples as needed.

No sockets but I got out the 2-1/2" to 1-1/2" adapter in case you need to borrow it.

That's the 3/4 ratchet, fits like a glove.

I just ordered the Hansen 2 1/2" drive socket tray and it has a 8 1/16" post at the end. WTF, looks like this set doesn't include that. I can't leave it unfilled, so I'll have to find one (I'd settle for a 3" drive, I guess).

Also, can anyone confirm, are they stamped USA? I heard Snap-on removed that because they were moving to China.

That's pretty awesome, but you need to clean it up. I like to use a microfiber cloth with Snap-on's synthetic spray lube. It puts a good shine on it, but make sure you set it back in the box using the cloth or it'll leave fingerprints before it dries.

Snap On moved production to China and he uses Snap On synthetic spray to clean the sockets, but is careful not to leave fingerprints. This thread has a lot of troll tendencies.

Broaching is, of course, excellent. You should know not to question Snap On's quality. Everything they make is perfect. No mistakes. Ever.
