Hi guys,

Whats the deal with the 2 different types of snap on striking ory bars? I've gone through a couple of the hard handle (SPBS704R) types as i keep trashing the ends (used for heavy work and fabrication, im not complaining) but now im looking to get a set that i can use for normal prying jobs and to try and keep in better condition.

I fancied getting their soft grip heavy duty ones as they go upto 54", but it looks like they dont list the set ( spbs704ar) on their website anymore, just the 30,48 amd 54" bars. Has the set of smaller bars been discontinued or replaced by the hard handle version? Seems strange they still do the larger bars but not these.

Thanks
Rich

It seems they are changing handle due to cracking of handle at striking cap I personally like the older handles better than the new ones

So the older handles are the hard handles? It seems weird then that the soft handle set (if its newest) is not listed on their website?

Thanks for the replies so far

yeah not sure Rich I saw some of the new ones they look ok... Snappys website ***** Big time....

I have an Almost complete set of the hard handle and while I as above have broke off a few tips in the cold, I have never cracked or damaged a handle.

What the heck are you beating on them with "Sledge hammer" to wreak that kind havoc...

I have the newer style 48" crown top so far so good its a monster of a prybar

Interesting.

Yer that did shock me. I habe 2 sets of hard handles ones, first ones are totally trashed now and the second amd heading that way. The handles have been crushed, run over amd swung at with mallets and 5lb hammers, despite having some pretty bad gouges out of them, none are cracked or unusable.

Yep, im going to pick up the SPBH30R, SPBH48R and SPBH54R. I'll just have to get my dealer to find out if he can get the set of smaller ones next week. I was under the impression these were the new kind origionally amd the hard handles were the old type, but when i couldnt find the soft set on their website i assumed it must have been the other way around.

Thanks gents.

They should warranty all of them reagardless of condition... I would make it a priority to swap them out before there discontinued or unavailable ...

If a part is discontinued they automatically swap it for the new part when you warranty it.
