I'm obviously new here and thrilled by the way to stumble onto this site. I noticed in your last picture posted; it looks to me like the belt tensioner might be going the wrong way. I think the rubber knob is supposed to come up from the bottom. I just thought I'd mention it. I also could be all wet. Let me know what you think.
It was mounted upside down by the previous owner. Those pictures were taken after I removed it from my vehicle. I've seen all manner of ridiculousness from previous owners on 60-90 year old machines.
