I’ve recently acquired a monster of a bench vise that I have no need for and very little knowledge about. It is a Starrett bench vise 924. I didn’t really know anything about it at first so I reached out to G-ManBart to see exactly what I had. He filled me in on the details of my specific vise. I am trying to sell this vise but I need to find a set of 4” jaws for it to be complete. I searched on benchvisejaws.com but had no luck. I was hoping someone could potentially point me in the right direction as to where I could find the needed jaws so I can sell the vise. Thank you in advance for any and all replies.

welcome to GJ. I cant believe you would let that vise go! It's probably one of the finest made. There are plenty of members here that would buy it as is. I'm sorry I cant tell you where to get jaws. My guess is the cost to have them made would be as much as the vise is worth. I'm sure you could still get a good price for it without them. That one looks to have original paint and everything. I noticed that weld on the dynamic jaw. That hurts the value immensely. I would definitely not buy new jaws for it. You might do better parting it out. good luck!

No problem. I have a Starrett 923-1/2 that I had to weld in the same place. Im not sure why they break there, especially with the reputation for quality that Starrett has. Good luck with your sale. If I was closer I'd definitely want to buy it.

Glad to see you made it here! That's definitely a fantastic vise and I'm sure someone will have a set hidden away or have a machinist buddy who'll tackle making a set. I had one just like it a few years ago and was really impressed with how nicely made they are.

Years ago I tried to buy a Starrett Athol vise that size from a business that was going out of the surplus business and into selling new electrical equipment. The owner however refused to part with the vise--he said his workers would kill him if he sold it.
