Hello all! I'm looking for a bit of information on some Starrett squares I recently acquired. A buddy of mine gave me these two squares in exchange for helping him move some stuff. They both appear to be the same square and one comes with a wooden case of sorts. I can read the info on one of them and from my google searches it seems to be a Starrett 20-24. I'm having a little bit of trouble finding information on the production years for them though as I would love to know when these were made. Does anyone happen to have any information when these particular squares were made and if there's anyway I could narrow down a production date? As far as I know these are still being produced but I know nothing about how far back they were made. Thank you all!

Steel squares are one of Starrett's oldest tools. The #20 is in my catalog from 1916 and they were making them long before that.

Thanks for the info Jack! One of the only things I've been able to find is the addition of "THE" to the L.S. Starrett name in 1909. The square that I can read the logo on has this "THE" in the logo so all I have so far is that it's sometime after 1909. I've also been able to find a copy of a 1938 catalog and the No. 20 square seems to have some sort of logo in between the L.S. Starrett and Made in USA lettering that my square does not have.
