Storing a lathe on it's side?

Someone is selling a grizzly G0602 lathe on CL but they've got it sitting on it's side. Is that bad for the lathe?

Context: I don't have a lathe and have been itching for one and this one popped up kinda cheap ($750). Seller claims it was never used. It's fairly tempting.

It shouldn’t hurt the casting. I’d have to see it upright and make sure it’s operational before buying.

Make sure that whatever lube the headstock uses is the right amount. Some lathes run in an oil bath, and you want to be sure it's still in there.

If it's truly new, it should have all the accessories it was delivered with. Download the info from their website and check off each item when it's there. Tooling for a lathe or mill can rapidly reach the cost of the machine itself in a hurry.

Typically that side of the lathe is just a sheet metal cover over the gears for the power feed. Looks like the cover is crushed. I'd want to see the gears and spin them.
