Stubby ratchet thread

I picked up Toptul 1/4 and 3/8 Stubby ratchets from ultimate garage. http://www.ultimategarage.com/shop/part.php?products_id=3175
I am quite pleased with them, and the price was great!

Those are the same ones I am waiting for Mike Wren to get in so I can try them out.

Those don't look half bad and price is definitely nice. I just don't get how this stuff is so cheap. I don't have any TopTul stuff. Maybe I should get some.

i have a Duralast 3/8 stubby, 10 degree action if i remember right, works well for tight spaces from my experience.

Cheap? Toptul isn't cheap.


My first stubby is a Gearwrench 3/8" from the recent Advance Auto clearance. That is a quarter for scale.

I just checked the price I paid for the proto was 17.46 on about june of this year with no shipping from grainger and their part number is 1Ah61 or proto 5248S but that doesn't come up there site, but the grainger number does.

Dug out the 1/2 drive SO stubby. The model number is FK720A. Don't know what it cost new; I found it at a swap meet for around $15 if I remember right.

I guess the price went up because it is now 27.75.

Really? I could've swore I saw one in a recent thread in a bulk lot purchase.

Not that it matters. It's still a fave, and I enjoy using it a great deal. It's just been a great, all-around go-to tool for me.

Hasn't been an issue for me. I use it to speed up assembly of things before I break out the torque or big wrench for the final tighten (I had nice sets of Mac 6-point deep impact sockets that I kept handy on the bench with that rat that went down pretty small).

Beyond that I'd switch to the 1/4 drive.
