Stupidity with compressor wiring

I had to relocate my compressor and had everything in place but without thinking I wired the power lines directly to the "motor terminals" and wired the motor lines on the "line terminals" on the pressure switch. Black under black, white under white. As soon as I threw the breaker it tripped my main breaker.

I realized what I had done after I looked at it and corrected it but now the compressor will not startup. I assume I fried the pressure switch but could use some advice. Is this something I can test in some manner or do I just need to order the switch and be done with it?

Most pressure switches are just that, a switch. Shouldn't make a bit of difference if you wired it backwards like you said. Post up some information on the switch, maybe a picture of it as now wired, and if you have 120v or 240v installation.
