sub panel to Garage

I have on a pole out side my house and on the pole is a meter under that 100 amp. main breaker
I built a detached garage 60 feet away from pole , I would like to run over head wire to garage, can't go under ground because of septic lines , but I don't mind over head and wire will be 13 to 15 feet above ground , the biggest thing I will run is welder maybe , the other tools will be a table saw and mostly hand tools, I have at my disposal a 100 amp. panel for the garage and # 2 aluminum wire tri-plex 2 coated and 1 bare all 3 the same size, I guess my question is can I run a 100 amp. sub panel off of a 100 amp. main that guess to my house with what I have, the main has a disconect.

2008 code requires 4 wire feeders for remote buildings.

You can't use #2 aluminum for a feeder and protect it at 100 amps. 90 amps is the max.

It isn't clear your proposed triplex is rated for overhead service, or that adequate means are provided to secure it. The power company uses ACSR wire for the bare wire on a triplex service entrance. (It is steel reinforced to handle wind and ice loads.)

No reason you can't take a 100 amp feeder off a 100 amp panel if there is a reasonable load diversity story. There is also no reason you can't supply a 100 amp panel with a 60 amp feeder, since the feeder is protected at the supply end.

The 90 amp breakers cost a lot more than the 60 amp breakers; I'd start at 60 and see how it works out. You'll probably never trip it with your proposed usage.

If you know the aprox location of the septic lines, I would just hand dig at those points. Underground would be much better in the end.

Indeed, you need 4 wire feed after the disconnect.

Code requires a minimum of 12 ft on residential overhead cables.

The triplex is rated for over head, and I have a 60 amp in the panel also, thank you for your advice very helpful

Yes the shortest from wire to ground would be 12', and again thank you
