Summit Racing Outlet & Switch Plate Covers

I ordered some of the flamed outlet & switch plate covers from Summit's Hot Rod Catalog. They look good, but on the downside they are not standard size covers. Disappointed that I now have to go back and paint around all the covers.

Those look like standard-size covers to me... my guess is you had a mid-size cover before.

No offense but outlet covers should be removed when painting anyway.

I never knew there were different size plastic plate covers, I would have thought the builder would have used the cheapest possible.

ummm, I'm assuming his walls don't need painting and all he did was install some new switch covers ? Just a guess LoL

Even midway plates are cheap. A lot of guys use them to cover for sheetrockers doing ****** work.

Yeah, but the old plates obviously WERE painted over without removing.

Yes the larger sized covers are really being pushed. I had a hard time finding the standardizes recently.

Cheap enough, plus covers a lot more of sheetrock errors, which would be more expensive.

That's 'cause you're looking in home centers. They seem to carry FAR more OS Plates than standard.
Real supply houses will tend to carry almost any plate configuration you want in std size.
