Hi all, my father owned an independent auto repair business. Upon the closure of the shop, I found this Sun Electronics Ignition Simulator. When plugged in, it simulates the firing of the spark plugs. How was this used? As a training tool? As a marketing tool? Is there any value to this piece of equipment?

Thanks for any input.

Its a training tool. All those toggle switches allow you to simulate various failures in each system.
I don't see much value as training tool even aside it's obsolescence. While you could observe spark on this device you cannot in a running engine.
I'm sure it has some collector value but as a useful tool, no. Also, from here, it appears that the GM HEI one has it's firing order mixed up.
