t8 with knockouts

I have been looking for flush mount two bulb 4' t8 fixtures that provide knockouts in the middle on each side. I guess at each end would also work, but not ideal.

I have to surface mount the wire in conduit and did not want to mount a box and then add the light to the box. I want the light fixture up against the sheetrock. I could cut a hole in the end of the cheap ones I have been looking at, but there must be another solution. These are going to be in the garage, so I don't need anything fancy, but want wrap around lenses.

I am going the wrong route?

I have bought some HD Lithonia two bulb T8s for the basement and had access to the top of the fixtures and the knockout. These will not work for what I want to do in the garage.

You can always add knockouts if you need.

Unibit will tear through most fixtures easily. I just put up some 4ft t8 from lowes. Metelux.... cooper. Knockouts on top and sides

"You can always add knockouts" ..... IF the metal fixture has enough depth. Helped my son attempt to install new 48" fixtures in a ceiling box that was 48 1/2" wide. Only knockouts were in the ends in new fixtures. My thought was to connect them with EMT through the sides. There wasn't enough depth to allow that idea. Wound up retaining the old fixtures and monuments and using the new ballasts. Glad to know fixtures exist with side knockouts. Wish my son had found them!

I will give this a try. Really limited in space and I will probably need to run in one side and out the other to continue the run. I guess with low profile flush mounts there is not much a choice with keeping the cost down.
