Came across this in a box in the garage.It's a Standard Tool Co. 7/8" twist drill.A fair guess is that it's an item that was brought over here to be used with US equipment during WWII.I'd guess that it's unused.Surface condition is just a result of years of storage.
It would be a crime to scrap it but it's no use to me at present because I don't have a chuck to suit.I'd normally turn down the shank of the drill in my lathe but it's too big to fit in the chuck bore.
Does anyone know any dodges to reduce the shank to (say) 1/2".
Failing that,if anyone can use it in it's present state please let me know and you can have it for the cost of P&P,
