This followed me home today and Id like some opinions on the base and press.
Havent diddled with it yet but looks like the height of the machinery could be made adjustable with the turn of the wheel. Id like to know how long this drill press has been sitting here, were these two fine pieces of machinery always mated to one another or was this base used for something else at one point within the textile plant and someone thought it would make a neat addition to the press.
I realize whatever answers I get will prob. be only speculation. Id like to think they have been with each other a very long time.
I will possibly not reattach the grinding wheel unless of course it proves that they should all be together......or I might just go ahead and put it on there regardless cause the old timer that owned this prior to the dealer that I purchased it from would have preferred that I had just left it on there.
I will do some better things with the cords to make everything look more period correct.
As far as I can tell the press only has the one broken deal and I am going to have to start looking for that if anyone could give me an idea on what its called ( pointing to it )
Also what would be the thermostat looking thing that appears to be missing at least a cover?
