Thermal break

What is the correct way to achieve max thermal break at the overhead garage doors? Where you drive from driveway, over sill wall to interior HEATED floor. How is the heated floor kept warm right at the point of where the garage door comes down? Would not the perimeter foam allow the concrete to give way? Or just pour floor full thickness and suffer some heat loss in front of each door.

That is what I did. I know I am loosing heat, but in all honesty having the snow melt away from my door opening is nice. I don't have to get too close to the building to plow snow or shovel the doorway.

I got some good advice on GJ from Torque to stay away from the door 2'. I also installed a drain and pitched away from the OH door. It all worked well for me, no frozen seal, no cracks, cheap and great heat.

In the past I have stopped the floor at the inside of the wall and put 2 inch foam between the floor and the apron[which actually enters the garage a few inches].

You can cover it with any number of things. I piece of angle iron, several door thresholds, duct tape, dirt..........
