what's is the difference between www.garagejournal.com and garagejournal.com ?

so I am login on www.garagejournal.com..... then doing something else on a different tabs and google search something .... garagejournal.com link came up.... in the search... I clicked on it.... and I am seeing that I am no login....

FYI... but if I just manually type http://garagejournal.com it does automatically redirect me to http://www.garagejournal.com

theyre the same site.

www is needed when your DNS doesnt have a saved IP address/ route for the particular site youre going to. Once you go there via www the DNS caches the IP address of the server so it knows where to go.

Ive tried websites before without www and said page not found. Typed www and voila. After that www no longer needed...

Clear your history and log on again and then all should be OK.
