Thread deleted

I started a thread in Free Parking last week regarding bridge repairs in my home town (City removing over 1.3 M lbs of dung). Several members chimed in about this being their home town, and several contacts were made with local members.

I followed the Free Parking Rules that state:
"This forum is also a place to post typical conversations that you might have in your garage. We like the idea of promoting the community here and want to provide a place where folks can keep in touch with others of like mind."

... which is exactly what was happening. And in fact the discussion originally started in my garage.

The thread has been deleted without notice. Just want to know why?

Please do not shoot me I am just the messenger here as I can see it was deleted as sadly some one went over board with Political comments. I can also see the intent of the topic was hijacked.

Often you will never get any notice why it was removed as that discussion then gets heated and why I say do not shoot the messenger.

"Deleted" seems extreme for a couple of comments. I was on the thread and then it was gone a couple hours later. How bad could it have gotten in a couple hours? I didn't even see the "offending comments" so I am I to just assume they were really that bad?

I've seen things get VERY bad on some threads and they are closed, not deleted. Sorry it just seems draconian and leaves a very bad taste....

As I said do not shoot the messenger. I can only tell you how I see it. Best forgotton and move on.
