I did this on another forum a couple years ago, decided to do it here.

Its time to clean off the workbench when....
You build another workbench because it is less labor intensive than cleaning off the current one

The calendar on the wall says 1984, because that's the last time you were able to get close enough to it to change the date

You still have the owners manual for the car you sold back in '89

The can of your favorite beverage looks nothing like the can sitting on your workbench, it has had 3 logo changes

Lets keep this going

You buy new wrenches cause you can't find the last three sets you've bought

when you run out of horizontal places to stack things on it and every time you do try to put something on it, it falls on your feet.

I still have the owner's manual for the car I bought in 1970, but that car is still in my garage and the manual is in the glovebox. Actually, that car has been in my garages for over 42 years, and I've gone through a lot of work benches in that time.

.... the pile of junk against the wall may or may not be supported by a work bench.

The grinder dust and drill shavings mounds look like you are starting a diorama.

When you buy a new tool because the other one is lost on the bench, this did happen & the replacement was not as good as the old one, which was later found.....

Your wife complains about your projects laying on the washing machine. You clean that off and use it again because it's easier than moving the ton of **** just to get to the workbench.

So, how many dead bodies are in that place? I have only seen that many dead flies in a house that a body had decomposed in.

Thankfully not mine. Claims the flies come in the gaps in the siding to get warm and then head for the windows, where they are trapped. This is about 6 months worth.

I'm glad I'm not the only one. I need to stop doing a million things at once, I have a workbench outside - just waiting to be covered in stuff, if I bring it inside.
