Tiny boley or bergeon vise copy

I got this off ebay, when it got here I realised it was far smaller than I had expected, but not without a good deal of charm. The serrated jaws are 1 3/16" wide and held in place with screws, and a tenon at the back bottom of the jaw seats. The fit is very nice, and as you may be able to see in viseacme.jpg the tiny screw is indeed acme threaded, though perhaps 3/16" diameter, no larger.
There are markings, "Made in England" on the LH side, and "1354" just above that, and on the other side a "P" over a teardrop shape, all the markings cast into the body. Like a Bergeon the slide is the back part, but notice the tiny key that holds the main shaft in place, it has a tiny screw and is slipped under a ledge at the top. visehandle.jpg shows how nicely the handle ends are riveted on.

Poor focus, but note the dime sitting on the anvil, which is less than 1/2" square area.

Laying open on it's side, note the LH markings, too bad I can't show the fit on the dovetails, very nice. Please note the inset jaws with tenons.

I found a reference to an identical vise in a different garage tool site I'm not a member of, by someone named "Georgiatransplant" I think. But no one had anything to say that adds anything to my knowledge of this little wonder. Could this have been a salesman's sample? I've never owned a Bergeon or Boley vise, are they this small? This thing is almost dollhouse sized as you can see, but the care taken in fitting is phenomenal unless it was made to be either shown as a sample of the makers skill or as a working vise. Overall length front to back, closed, about 3", side to side maybe 1 1/2" at the base, and height about 1 3/4".
Anyone else ever seen one?

Nice find. That could be a salesman sample as you said. It is very much like a Boley from what I've seen.

I have several tiny vises myself, one similar to that. I'll have to post it up to compare but mine definitely isn't stamped with those markings.

I didn't find any info on the one I have either. It is made very well and tight tolerances. I would guess is it is a copy of the Boley.

Looks very much like VS513 in the Boley ad, but much smaller, jaws only 1 3/16" wide.
I've decided to give it to a friend I know who has been extraordinarily generous to me, a gift it hurts to lose but to a worthy friend. He mentioned that he wants to give one "Like that" to his daughter, so there ya go!
It's nice to be in the loop.

At second glance it looks like VS510 which has 1 1/4" wide jaws.
