Today I purchased a Craftsman roller bearing 6 drawer 40" tool box for me to use at work. I need liners! I called Sears and they told me the:confused:y do not have liners for my box. Can anyone please help me find someone that has liner material I can use?

Don't get the black rubbery liners at sears, the stuff that comes in a roll and has little bumps. They leave marks all over tools that lay on them. All my tools now have polkadots. I would get a thin foam or very thin carpet. Just my opinion.

Just went to a flooring store today and found a piece of rubberbacked carpet to cut into drawer liners for the box I bought yesterday.I've done this in the past and felt it worked really well, the rubber back keeps the carpet from moving and acts like a sound deadener, when you throw tools in it absorbs the blow somewhat.

Will gas and grease effect the carpet? How thick is the carpet? The tool box liner material is a little pricey. The liner I got from Sears in my old box never stayed in place. This has me thinking of a better material not just cheaper.

You put gas in your toolbox???
I've had carpet in some of my boxes for 15 yrs now and other than making them dirty grease has never bothered them,I usually wipe my tools off before I put them away but I'm not a tool polisher. If you get dark carpet its not very noticeable.

I work on rotary mowers and snow blowers and sometimes my tools have gas on them. When there is snow I have snow blowers people need asap. I am very busy for days and the oil & gas build up on my tools is a little messy at times. The smell of old gas is the worst. Friday I clean everything and make sure everything is put away in it's place and clean.

That is something I did not try. I am not very with computers. At work I have to use a computer to find parts for the mowers I work on and at times that is a challenge.Sorry of the lack of knowledge. Thank you very much for the help.

Well I am an up-town sort of guy and very high-brow about my tools, so I use cardboard in the bottom of my drawers. Toss and replace as needed.
