Tools Identification?

I've been offered these tools, but with most of them I don't even know what they are for. Could you teach me?

From what I think I see....in pic #3 at the top looks like a brake tool and the s shape on the left looks like a brake spoon to adjust the brakes.....the other is a spanner wrench...possibly for cylinder caps ....in pic #4 on the left look to be fencing pliers

First is for adjusting valves I think. Second pic brake spring pliers on top then a pin spanner. "S" shaped tool is for packing oakum in cast iron plumbing I think. Next pic shows fence pliers next to which is a "grip" for pulling wire, kind of like a Chinese finger. Forgot to add, last pic is a saw set.

Yup. The piece with the knob and the little arm loosens with the knurled set screw and pivots or swings over to either of the box ends, depending on the size of the jam nut on the valve adjusting screw (EDIT: usually 1/2" or 5/8"). The knob has a flat head screwdriver tip or something similar that goes through that opening. This tool was used instead of holding a wrench for the jam nut in one hand and a screwdriver for turning the valve adjusting screw in the other. You’d slip this over the jam nut and turn the knob.

^ sounds about right. I'd go $5 because I don't work on barbed wire fences any more.

Someone is cleaning the odd bits out of gramp's toolboxes, not anything in the lot many use today.

That said I collect Ford stuff and need a saw set.

It's an older gentleman, he hasn't given me a number. $5 for all is like $1/piece, I'm not sure if I would insult him :-D

well... if you're planning on working on any barbed wire fences, a decent set of fence pliers is about $30 bucks. I'd imagine you could find the made-in-China models for half that, if not lower.

Old tools are worth about as much as you can get for them at the time. You will likely not insult him with a $5 price for all if he doesn't need them anymore. I see those saw-sets all the time, and have acquired two of them myself in bulk buys, but have yet to use them.
