Whats the opinion on the Phoenix Lite 3 vs. Lite 2 or Plus? Or any of the equivalent Autel models.

Looks like the Lite3 is an update to the well liked Lite2. Adding built in CAN FD (not essential for me right now) and Topology (nice to have).

"Plus" seems to be a slightly older model, with no built in CanFd but a larger screen and more RAM. Processors and android 10.0 are the same. Plus is about $200 more than Lite3

Is the Plus worth the money? What about the Autel MaxiPro MP900? Seems to be about the same as the Lite3 but running Android 11 and having TPMS for $150 more money than the Plus..

Topdon also provides 2yrs if free updates which is a big plus.

I have the Lite 3 and an Autel Ultra. I could grab either tool and get anything I need done. Don't think I've run into any limitations where one tool worked and the other didn't. And if it didn't I would just go for an OE level tool at that point. I do find myself grabbing the Lite 3 more often the, size is a bit more manageable.

It's interesting, we all love big screens but I think we often ignore the value of the smaller units. My Lite 2, which Topdon accidently sold briefly with topology, is annoying to graph more than ~4 items on. But that form factor is excellent when I don't need a bunch of data at once.

Having an Autel (OLD 906 base model), I'd agree the coverage between the tools is pretty similar.

I wouldn't buy a tool in 2024 without CANFD unless you already own another CANFD tool. It's becoming too common, those cars are out of warranty now.
