Happy Sunday GJ'ers!

So I'm a powertrain/driveability geek and I'm interested in (occasionally) monitoring current gear and torque converter lockup state among other things on my daily drivers, so after reading raving opinions of the Torque Pro app ($4.95) here for many years I ordered a Veepeak Mini Bluetooth OBD II Scanner ($15), no brainer right?

To my big disappointment, I just realized that the Torque Pro app is not compatible with most recent Android versions, so my Samsung S23 (Android 14) phone and Lenovo Tab M9 tablet (Android 13) are out. Only my very outdated and super sluggish Samsung Galaxy Tab A (Android 9) shows compatibility, but I doubt it'll work.

So I'm consulting the GJ board:
  1. Any workaround?
  2. Any substitute app?

Thanks guys & gals!

I've used it with my Android 14 Samsung A14 5g and it worked fine. However, I've pretty much switched over to Bluedriver for my phone-based diagnostics mainly because it covers more systems.

I haven't installed it, Google Play Store doesn't show a download button for non-compatible devices.

You would probably have to try sideloading it which can be a PITA if you're not used to doing that.

Honestly, I'd probably look for an older phone to use just for this or move on to a different application.

I got a new phone some time last year, i think. No shenanigans, I just reinstalled it when I set this phone up. My last phone was a Galaxy, but I don't remember the model.

The Google Play store has been getting weird about what it will let me install on which device. I don't have a clue why. Life is too short to try to figure out why they do some of what they do any more.
