Track lighting

I was looking at installing some track lighting along the rear wall of my garage to provide some additional light to the engine bay when I have the hood up on my car (which currently blocks the limited overhead lighting). Just a basic 3 head track. When looking at the different types, I looked at regular PAR 30 style, GU10, and MR16 type fixtures. Went over to the bulb section to look and compare lumens, cost, etc. I noticed that there is no lumen output provided for the GU10 and MR16 bulbs (50 watts). I even briefly checked out GE's website and couldn't find a lumen output. Anyone have any idea how much they put uot? The PAR 30's were at about 1050 lumens in the 75 watt variety. I will also be adding two additional twin tube fluorescent fixtures in the future for general lighting (10x18 garage). The track was more for focusing light around the engine area without the need for a drop light or stand-mounted light to trip over.

I don't have numbers, but.......

.........both the MR16 and GU10 50 watt halogens kick out a lot of light from a small package. Short of removing your hood, it's going to be a challenge to get lots of light in the engine bay without utilizing stand or drop lights IMHO.

(the hood on our old Mercedes 190E used to be able to open a full 90 degrees, man was that a nice feature!)

I was actually thinking that I would get a good amount of light into the engine bay with 3 track mounted halogens pointing at it. Most of the work I can do from either side of the car, so the light would be unobstructed. I don't think I can completely get away with never using a drop light (don't even own one) or stand-mounted (I have 2). With only 2 feet or so to spare in front of my car, the stands quickly get in the way when moving back and forth.
