Yes, you're in the right place. I think what could be found by some to be a little off-putting about your first post is the brevity. It could appear you're swinging through to benefit yourself by getting your question answered, and not planning to contribute.

You've been around since last year, so you know members here love tools. So where did you get it? What is the story behind it and what do you know about it? Show a full picture of it, and sneak in something cool in the background. I didn't look if you've listed it but lots of members strongly encourage new members to list their location in their profile.

Taking any of the above suggestions probably wouldn't have gotten the first reply that it got.

I don't know anything about your hammer, but it's rare that those questions go unanswered here. I can't remember where exactly it is, but there's a sticky where you can introduce yourself, do so.

welcome to the site.
I looked at "logos and trademarks" on Alloy-Artifacts.org but nothing looked similar.
there is at least one "hammer" expert here on this forum. hang loose and hopefully he'll spot your post.
there are so many "what is this?" threads here they kind of get lost in the morass.

of course, a guy could try posting a photo in the "Hammer Time!" thread and see if it gets somebody's attention....

Hammer Trademark ID

I'm an enthusiastic hammer guy. Hammers of all kinds including auto body hammers...in case I can shed light along the way. I keep pretty close track of what's out there.

Here are a few other pix of the unknown logo/trademark I would like to identify. All I've got is that little 'C' inside the outline. This tool appears to be a log marking hammer. M is for...money?? Minnesota??

Inspectors hammer. Whatever test or inspection the person did, if it passed, they'd whap it with the hammer, leaving their "proof" mark on the work.

Cool find, Hortica... there are people that collect those!

Thank you, great info, Lassen! I'll post an update when I find out who the manufacturer was. That C maker's mark looks distinctive enough. And those letters (MSM) must mean something. Minnesota Mining??
