Trolls, or scammers/spammers and recent posts

I've noticed in the past few days there
are posts made by someone with just
one or two posts, and when you click
on them they in no way resemble the
title of the post.

There of course are occasional posts
that don't resemble the titles but these
seem very obvious and deliberate.

Click the REPORT button on left side and tell GJ Admins that is Spammer.

Whatever you do, make sure you do NOT click on any of their links.

It comes in waves. What you are seeing at present is typical at the moment as it is all about live streaming. Do not click on the links.

It's greatly appreciated when members report these spammers. I know we try to delete them as soon as we find them.

Just went thru that on another forum I belong to, they would open 6 or 7 threads at a time. Wipe em out and a few days later they're back. As HOTFR8 said, if you open the thread and there's nothing there but a link, DO NOT CLICK ON!

Being on the East coast and getting up at 5 am, I usually report the overnight ones pretty quick. Quite often they are still online.

They join up as fast as we ban then and I am sure NUTTSGT will back me up on that.

World time zones often give you an idea where the spam comes from. I see many late in the day my time.

I don't see when they get reported, I believe that just goes to Ryan and he takes care of dumping them. Considering you're on the East Coast and he's on the other side, honestly, I seriously wonder if the guy ever sleeps.

Another thing to note since we are on the subject, don't post in the threads, just report and leave it alone. I try and PM people that post in the thread or quote the post, that is exactly what the spammers want you to do.

^ ^ ^ This. Posting in the those Spammer threads creates extra work for the mods to first delete all those posts before the original post can be deleted and ultimately NUKE the login of spammer completely.

Tell tale signs that post is by spammer include unusual repeat of few words already posted by another member. Also, some posts don't make any sense, or often have embedded virus link at the end. If post looks suspicious, click quote and that will reveal the hidden virus link at end. Hit back button on browser and Report the spammer so mods can nuke 'em.

I've reported a ton also and Mods zap them pretty quick !!
