Strange,I live on an island and they are readily available at all the orange stores and real electrical suppliers around here.

T8 Tandem 8 ft fixture link

Buy these. you don't have to gang 4 footers. These are "tandem"8 foot - or 2, 4 foot ganged together for you. They take (4) 4 foot tubes per fixture. They install surface mounted, as one unit.
I have 6 of these along with 3, 4 foot fixtures. I arranged them in three rows, each 8-4-8 end to end. Conduit to fixtures.
oh ya - I have no radio interference.
here is a picture - as crappy as it may be

Talking about the f96t8? The slimline style? If so, hard to find. Warehouse I take care of has about 100 fixtures in their mail room (347v) years ago I converted them from t12 to t8, now when a lamp or ballast goes I'm finding no stock at the suppliers, and usually has to be ordered

A fixture w/ tandem 4 foot lamps is going to be more economical then 8 foot lamps, because 4' lamps are cheaper then 8', not to mention easier to handle shorter lamps.
