I have built a 54' x 72' pole building with 16' side wall with scissor trusses, 2 " insulation in floor, r19 in side walls & r38 in ceiling .Inside the building there will be a 28' x 30' apartment. My question is what size unit heater would i need ? I am looking to install a Reznor heater. The shop will also have 3 windows, 1 service door, one 14' overhead door & two 10' overheads.Thanks for any advice.

123,552 BTU output is needed to control a Temp around 65 deg.
Some will argue that you can get away with much less, and they are probably correct.
I have never had a call back from a customer stating it was not warm enough or took forever to warm the garage.

Pretty well insulated? I would put a 100K BTU in it and never worry about it. 200K BTU is crazy!
We figured 20-25 BTU per sqft for shops and never got burnt on a job. A person has to look it over to make sure it isn't some 100 year old bus garage with block walls and no insulation, or a modern well insulate building. In your case 20 BTU per square foot will do it.
The only other consideration is the use. If you are running a frozen up farm tractor from -20F outdoor temp every day you may want more.
Also I assume the apartment will have heat from some other source so that subtracts from the total.
I remember a 4,000 sqft shop with floor heat that the contractor had issues with the heating equipment keeping up. We solved the equipment issues and a 30KW, (100K BTU), electric boiler keep it 65F in North Dakota winters.
