I think I have figured out how I want to do my garage floor. I have a 900sq ft rectangular garage with a ~ 100sq ft "work" area to the side. This work area has my work bench, toolbox, etc and you pass along the edge of this area to get up the stairs into the house. I think I want to do the main garage area in epoxy, that is where any real heavy work will be done and given the amount of winter crud I carry in on the cars (after 2 weeks I filled 1/2 a 5 gallon bucket with sand that had been spread on the road and came off the car) I feel epoxy will have less issues (no need to lift tiles to clean under them). I do want to do the work area in Race Deck, do a design that incorporates free flow and regular tile to allow for shoe drying when the kids come in and get me up off the cold concrete when working at the bench. If you were doing this would you epoxy under the Race Deck? Why or why not?

If your planning on using both of those flooring options i would suggest doing an epoxy for the whole floor and then using the race deck in the area you want over top. The beauty of the Race deck option is that it doesn't need to be permanent and if you want to move them, sell them, or expand you will still have a consistent floor underneath.
