Does anyone know if Ford's "came with" tools way back when? My dad has a 32 ford panel truck and I wonder if there was ever an "option" to buy tools with it? I know, for instance, that some Brit cars like Rolls/Bentley had tool sets, and BMW's had (have?) them at least in the 90's.

edit: that is, were these Ford tools sold to end users or made for factories/shops, or what? What was the market?

I know the Model T and A both had tool sets. I have most of the tools from them. Don't know if they continued after the 31.

I am fairly certain that everything pre 1948 came with most of the basics wrenchr has shown above. I know that they just came with the T's and A's and did not cost extra. I also know that Ford sub-contracted them out to several different tool venders and the designs did have small changes from time to time. The curved handle combination wrench was used for sparkplugs and head bolts and perhaps more. The monkey wrench did double duty as a tire iron, notice the tang at the end of the handle. I will dig through a few old copies of the Model A Restorers magazine and read the article on tools again that was included in one of the issues a few months back and report back in this thread.
