Help...I have a Deluxe jig saw, plain metal case, single speed before 1970. Label has spm 3000 with a sketched in serial number #35975. Any information on it please let me know. blade collar holder broke...

It might help if you posted a picture, but your best bet will probably be to make the part yourself or find a doner (or replacement) machine on Craigslist or eBay.

I grew up using one of those. Recently I picked a used one and a similar style circular saw for $20. The jigsaw has some use, but the circular saw is mint. Neat tools for sure. They look cool and in those days B&D was good brand.
