Vintage Craftsman Drill

Hi! I'm new to the forums.

I'm collecting old Craftsman tools because of their reliability and ease of maintenance (also 60's era design was beautiful). Unfortunately, I purchased a drill with a bent spindle/gear assembly. I was wondering if anyone could help me out with finding a suitable replacement part that runs true.

Craftsman Model Number: 315.7750 3/8 electric drill.

I've updated the post with actual images of the drill. Don't know why I didnt do this in the first place...

I'll post my bandsaw, table saw and jointer (after it gets cleaned and tuned) once I get some good photos!

Just a quick thought but if you can not find any replacement part and you do not want to gut another drill we have a few members that can make you a brand new part, again just a thought.

A few random thoughts...

I wouldn't think that would be too difficult to straighten. From the first pic, it doesn't look like it's bent much - I can't see it just eye balling it. Do you know anyone with a hydraulic press and v blocks and dial indicator?

Failing that, I bet when that drill was new in the box, it came with a nice owner's manual that had a page or 2 with a nice exploded view of all of the parts with part numbers of each part including the one you seek. You wouldn't by chance have that info, would you? Knowing the part number you need will make the search much easier.

Having a new part made is certainly an option, but probably not anywhere near cheap - unless you can get a favor from someone.

The first place I checked was the Sears Part Catalog (one of the reasons I love old Craftsman tools -- still serviced by Sears), but unfortunately, the model is no longer in their catalog. Google turns up a handful of actual pages referencing this drill (model 315.7750). VintageMachinery doesn't have anything listed. There's no part number listed on the spindle either.
