My wife enters several craft projects in the Minnesota State Fair every year. She usually enters a wreath. They normally have a theme. This year she raided my vintage tool stash and made this vintage tool wreath. Its heavy! it looks better in person than the photos, the flash washes it out. Thought you guys would like to see it. We find out in 2 weeks if she wins anything with it.

Those better be cheap Chinese files and c-clamp. Looks like some good usable tools there.

Reminds me of when I stroll through the local antique mall. Most people walk through looking for things to decorate their walls with or items to put on display. Me, heck I look for something I can get a life time of service out of. Hope she takes 1st place.

Cool, what was the theme ?

I should have said she makes them a theme. You can make whatever kind you want. She noticed that the theme wreaths always seem to do better in the judging. In the past she has made halloween wreaths, gardening wreaths, a poker wreath. The ones pictured below both one first place, wine wreath and a vintage fishing wreath. She normally donates them to the church bazaar after the fair but she like these 2 enough to keep them.

I believe its all USA made stuff. She said she would take this one apart afterward and give me my tools back.

None of the tools were harmed in the making of this wreath.

Went to the fair yesterday. She won first place with the wreath. Will take it home in a few weeks and my tools will be returned.
She also entered a flower arrangement in a lot that requires the use of something man made other than what a flower arrangement would normally be in. We took an old Craftsman weed wacker engine apart an drilled the spark plug hole out to fit some flowers in. She took first with that also. A happy wife makes for a happy home.
