vinyl restoration

Not sure where to ask this.
anyhoo, I have several old boy scout utensil kits in vinyl holders. The vinyl is getting hard and I would like to soften it up a bit before it cracks a comes apart. Any ideas that don't involve cooking up a witches brew ? Thanks,

There are many products for vinyl seats and door panels. If it were me, I'd start with mineral oil/ baby oil.

My scout utensils in the vinyl holders are somewhere in the attic.

A combination of Lanolin, mineral oil, vitamin E and beeswax works extremely well. Place a cup of cosmetic grade lanolin in a quart sauce pan. Add 4 to 6 tablespoons of mineral oil. Add one capsule of Vitamin E and 1 tablespoon of Beeswax. Heat to all products are in a liquid state and stir well. Let cool slightly and pour into sealable container. Let cool and apply. This stuff works wonders on leather and also will help rejuvenate vinyl. Also great for chapped skin
