Function follows form... or so the say....
Seems like the prewar WWII vises had some art in the design...especially the parker vises and prentiss vises. Some Art Deco styling there
Like this.. with the buttresses behind the jaws and the scalloped design behind the static jaw, and the font used for the makers mark.
I'm actually a reed fan as far as function goes.... the reed 32,33,34 evolved into the c2,c3,c4 just before the war, with a bulkier design that evokes a Sherman tank.
But those Parker's sure are pretty to look at.
