Vise Mount

I just bought a house and until I get to build me something better I will have to do with the garage. It has a 6" steel post out in the middle and I want to mount a vise on it. I have seen a picture of a similar thing done just cant remember what I was searching for when I saw. Thanks

I have seen it too but may I throw a suggestion out there make it mount on a 2" receiver. That way you can use different attachments in there I have one on a semi truck drum I use all the time anvil attachment, plate for welding on, grinder, adjustable angle welding table vise etc its a great tool.

YES...We seen the same thing cause the one I saw was a 2" receiver hitch mount. Its a round column thats in the way so may as weel use it for something.

Weld a plate to the top of the post. Drill holes in it to mount the vise. Should only take half an hour.
